Let it Snow!

Today, we woke up to a rather welcome surprise! SNOW! I love everything about snow. It snowed on and off for most of the day which just made today go that much better.

I have a ton of great memories that involve snow. Most of those memories happened at my Grandparent's house in Speculator, NY.

I remember when my brother, Jason, and I were snowmobiling and we were trying to be "cool" and ended up rolling the snowmobile over. I remember when my other brother Jeff, running into the house and stating my Dad and him just fell through the lake on their snowmobiles.

I remember sledding with all my cousins many times. Specifically, I remember going down the "steep" hill on an inner tube and as I was on my way down and turned around and slammed into a tree, back first.

I remember the huge snow forts we would make in our front yard. There, they measure snow by feet, not inches. We would make elaborate forts with tunnels and windows.

I remember cross country skiing with my Grandpa. I remember learning to downhill ski when I was barely old enough to walk and more recently, attempting to snowboard with my cousin Mark.

I am very blessed and grateful to have so many memories…I can’t wait to see what memories will happen this winter!!

Dear President Elect

No doubt by now you are in the midst of filling cabinet positions and key positions within the White House. You will surround yourself with the wisest, most-knowledgeable people in these United States so that you are given the best counsel and information during the next four years. You will trust these individuals with giving you the best advice possible based on their information.

My prayer for you is that you fill those same positions with God fearing individuals who can give you Godly counsel in those times when is may seem like God is absent from the United States. Let me assure you however, God is not absent. God is the One who allowed you to hold this office and I pray that you respect that and acknowledge that.

You have campaigned that you think its time for change and to some extent, I agree. You have the unique opportunity to actually change these United States. My prayer is that you change it back to that principles that this country was founded on, principles that are written on every dollar that has ever been printed. “In God We Trust.” I pray that you trust him with your life, first and foremost. I also pray that you trust Him more then any advisor, counsel, or interest group because His information is far greater then their information.

You are in my prayers

Sincerely

Jonathan Dahl

Miscellaneous Monday

Favorite Weekend Moment: Besides spending time with my beautiful wife, taking three guys from the Youth Center to church on Sunday with me. The president of World Vision was there. He basically had a rags to riches testimony but then traded it all back when he became the President of WV. The guys I had with me liked it a lot. Spending time with them talking about the service and going to lunch and making complete fools of ourselves at Subway was priceless.

Least Favorite Weekend Moment:
Every other Saturday I have to work at my job and this Saturday was my turn. Not fun

Currently Reading:
“Three Signs of a Miserable Job” by Patrick Lencioni. The entire management team of the company I work for is reading this book on how we can better serve the people who report to us.

Looking forward to:
Steelers Game tonight and Election Day tomorrow!

In The Beginning...

I feel this title for my first post is rather appropriate. The phrase "In the Beginning" caries a lot of clout with it. On one hand, "In the Beginning" means it’s a start, a new chapter, the creation of something or someone. After all, the all time best selling book ever written, the Bible, starts with these exact words. While I know this blog will never amount to anything like the Bible, I'll be honest, it’s a powerful feeling. I can post whatever, whenever I want to. On the other hand, "In the Beginning" also means there will be an end eventually. So at any given point, this blog will come to close. But in the mean time- Join me in my rants. Join me in my thoughts. Join me on this journey…
